Tauranga Op Shops -18 stores

Who knew that Tauranga was an op shopping hub? On my recent trip to Tauranga I made it my mission to visit as many op shops as possible in one day. I did manage to visit 15 out of 18 on my list but bear in mind that it didn’t include any clothing only stores. If you’re after some treasures of the secondhand variety make sure to visit all 18 + Tauranga op shops.

I’ve popped all the ones I visited on a MAP so if youre planing out your day it makes it easier to locate all the shops so youre not zig zagging arcoss the city.

Tips for Tauranga Op Shops

• Start in Greerton, if you’re short on time, four shops on one street means you can cover a lot of ground fast.
• Budget for Waipuna Hospice, the Fraser Cove store had some lovely pieces that were a little higher priced than the average op shop.
• Spread it over a day, with 18 shops across four suburbs it’s a lot to fit in, so don’t be disappointed if you don’t get to them all in one go, I only managed 15.
• Check opening days,  I didn’t get to the Salvation Army or Waipuna Charity Shop in Greerton, or the Papamoa Waipuna Hospice, worth checking their hours if you’re planning a return trip

 

Fuel Stop

Secondhand shopping can get a little tiring so make sure to have a coffee or tea and something to eat. Bridge Community Store in Fraser Cove has its own cafe if you want to combine a browse with a coffee stop.

I didn’t come away with many goodies, maybe it was shopping fatigue as looking back on some of the videos there is certainly things I would have bought.
