5 Waterfalls in Kerikeri to Visit
There is something about the sound of water falling over rocks that makes me want to see all the waterfalls. So I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there were a number of waterfalls in Kerikeri to visit. There are four falls within Kerikeri itself and one closer to Waitangi.
Charlie’s Rock
Access for Charlie’s Rock is via a path off Landing Road. Parking is available at Waipapa Landing – google might say otherwise. The first part of the path is nice and a good width however it soon turns to a narrow track which involves stones/rocks and when I visited it was a little slippery from rain. There is also a stile to climb over so not suitable for prams.

Rainbow Falls
It’s a short walk from the carpark to the falls. The path is accessible by wheelchair and suitable for prams. There are three viewpoints, two of which overlook the falls and the other is a historic weir.
There is also a walk to the bottom of the falls. Instead of turning right to the viewpoints you turn left along the beginning or end of the Kerikeri River Track.

Te Wairere Waterfall
I parked off Kerikeri Inlet Road at the small car park there. Locating it did seem a little difficult however it seems the quickest way to get to the falls if short on time. There are a number of other access points and over 4km of track in total which you can read on the Vision Kerikeri Website

Wharepuke Falls
There are a number of ways to get to these falls. I parked on Landing Road in Kerikeri then headed along the Kerikeri River Track. This took me about 20 minutes to walk to the falls. You can also access the Kerikeri Stone Store and Mission Station from landing road.

Haruru Falls
While technically not Kerikeri Haruru falls is about an 18 minute drive. There is a carpark located on Haruru Falls Road Waitangi making the walk to the falls about 5 mins. If you want a longer walk you can take the track near the Waitangi Treaty grounds.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever visited any of the falls. If there are anymore in the area let me know, I would love to check them out.
