Blogs are a great way to inform people of all sorts of things. Perhaps you’re a travel blogger and you write about your latest trip. What you saw and the places you visited. Maybe you’re an artist and you wrote about what inspired you in your latest series of paintings. There are many reasons to write a blog. However, hitting the publish button is just the beginning of the journey.

Marketing your Blog

Now we have to think about marketing your blog. Marketing is the methods taken to get people interested in your product or service. Marketing can help establish you as an authority and create brand awareness. Therefore we want to think about the places we can put our blog that are easy to access by our audience and get them reading.

Website

A number of people will publish their blog on their website. Depending on which platform you use for your website some of your followers can sign up to be notified every time you post a blog. However, if you don’t have a website there are a number of other places to share or publish your blog i.e Bloglovin, Tumblr

Email Newsletter

Do you have an email list? Your list is an ideal audience with which to share your blog. When you send your next newsletter, write a short introduction about your blog and include the link. As a result, you get people reading your blog and increase traffic to your website.  But if you don’t have an email list and would like to start one pop over and have a look at my Getting Started with Email Course

Social Media

Raw Pixel

Some time after sending my newsletter to my list I will also share the newsletter to different social media platforms. I do this in a number of ways, as an example I would share the newsletter direct to Facebook. Another option would be to create graphics for a platform like Instagram.

With the blog itself I take small pieces of information and create graphics and video that I can also share on my socials. Facebook and Instagram alone give you 8 places to share. With a number of points from your blog you can create quite a bit of content that can be spread out over the next couple of months.

  1. Facebook business page
  2. Facebook Stories
  3. Personal Facebook Page
  4. Personal Facebook Stories
  5. Instagram Feed
  6. Instagram Stories
  7. IGTV
  8. Facebook Groups

In addition to giving a clear CTA (call to action). For example follow me, find me here, read the rest here etc. Making sure to lead people back to your website. As another example you can have a link in your bio on Instagram page that goes direct to your blog on your website.

Thinking about the many ways to market your blog can give you so much content you might never need to actually figure out more content ideas, but if you do want some I have a months worth of content ideas here. Of course there a many more ways to market your blog and if I can help you figure that out then get in contact here.
