Op Shopping, Second Hand Furniture in Christchurch and more

Christchurch is a great place to go second hand shopping because there are many different types of shops and markets to explore. Whether you’re looking for vintage clothing, furniture, books, or other items, you’re sure to find something that catches your eye. See what I discovered on a recent trip.

Popular Destination

One popular destination for second hand shopping in Christchurch is The Woolston Emporium. Here, you can browse for unique furniture, clothing, jewelry, and home décor items that you won’t find anywhere else. It has a number of traders all under one roof.

Notable Places

Another notable place to shop in Christchurch is 105 New Brighton Mall. A collective of community services and shops including Seaside Vintage and Down by the Sea, Beach Boutique and others Each of these shops has its own unique selection of items, and you never know what you might find.

Something Special

I had the opportunity to meet another creator while in Christchurch, Anne-Marie an artist who can be found at the world of artemis jones  It was so good to meet up for coffee and afterwards we checked out The Creative Junk Store. If you are an educator of any sort make sure to check the store out. Its full of resources to create with.

Creative Junk Shop 2

A glimpse of the many things available, there was textiles too.

The Eco Store

EcoCentral receive and process a huge proportion of Canterbury’s recycling and waste and sell some of the waste in The Eco Store, so worth a visit. Lots of things to choose from with one area dedicated to second hand furniture and probably the biggest area of second hand furniture in Christchurch.

Rangiora

For second hand furniture you could take a trip out to Rangiora and visit Rangiora sales. A whole floor full of vintage furniture plus so much more.

Finds & Makes

As I was travelling I didn’t have much room for extra luggage, but I did manage to find some pieces of fabric to bring home.

Watch my short video to see what fabrics I found and what I turned them into. Also I plan on making more, so if you are interested on when they are available make sure to sign up to the newsletter to be the first to hear.
