Secondhand Shopping Ellerslie and Royal Oak

Ellerslie

On this second hand shopping expedition I stopped at the two shops in Ellerslie first. The first one was the SPCA on the corner of the Main Highway and Ladies Mile. Mostly clothes which a few home goods, it was a nicely laid out store. Just across the road was the Mercy Hospice shop. this is on two levels with the bargain basement underneath. The basement was mainly clothing while upstairs was a mixture of clothing and kitchen type stuff.

To Wahi

Then it was on to To Wahi – Your Place Community Op shop which according to the address is in Onehunga. If you’re into sewing this shop has a large assortment of fabric remnants. Its quite a small store but still managed to pack quite a bit in there.

Royal Oak

First stop was the secondhand store called ” I Saw You Coming Vintage”. From outside this looks very unassuming however it has two rooms packed full of vintage and retro home wares, furniture and clothing. I love stopping here but this visit I came away empty handed.

At the big roundabout in Royal Oak is Royal Oak Traders, another secondhand shop. This is mainly vintage and retro furniture and other collectors items. Don’t often buy much but its great for a look and wishing you had deep pockets.

I wasn’t going to stop at the Salvation Army Family store especially since I missed it and had to go around the block. Though I had a feeling it would be worth stopping and I was right. They had a good selection of furniture but I only came away with one piece and in hind sight should have shopped for more. A good mix of clothing and furniture with some small pieces of home decor and kitchen items.
