Manukau City and Papatoetoe Op Shops

Sometimes when you have time up your sleeve a little shopping of the secondhand variety is just what you need. On a recent trip to pick up the husband from the airport I decided to allow a little extra time to check out the op shops.

Manukau City

Manukau City has three op shops which include an SPCA, St John and a Salvation Army Family Store. The ops shops are in close proximity to each other so you could walk to as them, however if you buy a lot of treasure then that could be a problem! Check out the link at the end for the map to where the stores are located

My first stop was the SPCA which is quite a small store but they always seem to pack in a little of everything including some furniture.

A little further along the same road was St John.  This is a bigger store with a good variety including clothes, homeware and some furniture. There was also quite a bit of glassware.

Lastly was the Salvation Army Family store. A small store with mainly clothes but they also had some furniture and a small amount of bric a brac.

Weird Things

What is the weirdest thing you’ve seen for sale in an op shop? This was mine, well it wasn’t actually for sale but it certainly was weird.

Papatoetoe

About a seven minute drive down the road from Manukau was the Salivation Army Family Store in Papatoetoe. It was quite unassuming from the outside but I managed to pick up quite a few bargains. So if you are pressed for time this would be the one to check out first.

As always if you know of any op shops or second hand stores in this area, do let me know as I’d love to find more Manukau City and Papatoetoe Op Shops.
