Rainy Day Fun: Exploring New Plymouth’s Second-Hand Shops

New Plymouth is a city that offers an abundance of activities and sights to explore. However, if you happen to encounter some bad weather during your trip, it might feel like your options are limited. There’s a fun way to spend your time in New Plymouth even when the weather is gloomy – and that’s by checking out the second-hand shops.

Variety of Shops

New Plymouth has a variety of second-hand shops that cater to all tastes and budgets. With an array of shops located throughout the city, you’re sure to find a hidden gem or two.

On a recent trip to New Plymouth, despite the wet weather, I was able to explore several second-hand shops. I was delighted to discover some awesome finds and left with an armful of great bargains. See the photos below to see what I found, this is not all of it!

What I love about  shopping second-hand is its also a sustainable option that benefits the environment. By giving used items a new lease on life, we can reduce waste and our carbon footprint, so it’s a win-win situation!

So, don’t let a bit of rain dampen your mood while in New Plymouth. Have some rainy day fun: exploring New Plymouth’s Second-Hand Shops grab your umbrella and head out to discover the city’s second-hand shops – you never know what treasures you might find!

Below is a list of shops that I managed to visit. Its not all of the stores as I didn’t quite have enough time. A variety of shops from The Junction which is a zero waste store, to Chadz Antiques and Mid Century Found then all the op shops. My favourites would have to be Chadz Antiques, Mid Century Found  Faded Fancy, Magpie Collectables and Salvation Army Family Store. I did find that one or two op shops that seem to think they are Antique shops with there prices which was a bit disappointing.
