Business Conference

In May 2019 I headed to Adelaide, Australia to attend my very first business conference – The Artful Business Conference. After seeing talk about the conference in various posts on social media over a number of years, I decided it was time to attend. The mission statement really captivated me and so I felt compelled to attend  “Our mission is to help you create, build and maintain your artful business in a creative and authentic way through education, networks and support”

The conference is the brainchild of founder Elle Roberts. It had its inception in 2012 “with a desire to connect with other values-driven business owner who wanted to share their passion with the world, but who were also serious about building a profitable and successful business”.

As a small business owner who works from home and doesn’t network much I though it the perfect opportunity to met and  learn from others. Consequently, to use the knowledge gained to help build a successful business.

Thoughts

The conference was held over two days at The Hackney Hotel and Function Centre.  There were number of different speakers leading us through various topics, for example “Be a Shark or a Misfit But Be You” “Your Story Matters” “Find Your Voice. Make Some Noise” plus much more. Though its not a large conference it still packed a lot of punch when it came to content. It also meant you could network with other people so much easier. Every one was so encouraging and welcoming.

Some of the speakers & topics included:

Elle Roberts “Be the Change you Want to see in the World” Use your platform and profile to make change not just to grown your business.

Final Word

For a first foray into conferences I was really impressed. It wasn’t just about the conference all the attendees where so friendly and we had some great social occasions too. I came away from the conference feeling really encouraged and that I and my business where validated. I felt that attending the conference was a turning point in my business journey.
